The hole

This is the well of an old Wasserburg (that's german for a medieval castle surrounded by a moat of water), nowadays a mere ruin; a remnant of the old stronghold. In the middle of a meadow it lies as a deep, dark chasm leading only downwards, where the lingering shadows lurk in the secrecy of darkness.

I would have been happy if I could have taken the well in the middle of the pic as well, but above the meadow was another on, a little bit lower located, and there was the sun shining too bright for my cell phone cam.
